Justin Lee received his Master of Music in Bass Performance from Rutgers University, and Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Montclair State University. He is the Assistant Orchestra Director and lower strings specialist at John P. Stevens High School in Edison, NJ. Justin is a Teaching Aritist (Bass) at Raritan Valley Community College. Justin has 19 years of experience as a public school music educator.
Justin has an active performing career in addition to his career as an educator. He is a substitute on Broadway shows, performing as a substitute on "Caroline or Change" at Studio 54 Roundabout Theater, and was the bass chair for the new Off-Broadway Show "Camp" at Theater Row. Justin appears on three episodes of Amazon Prime's "Mozart In the Jungle." In the fall of 2021, Justin performed the US Premiere of Jeff Beal's Concerto for Jazz Bass, which is written for upright and electric bass. He is currently a member of the New York City-based Chelsea Symphony and The New Jersey Capital Philharmonic. Justin regularly performs with the MRB Jazz Project, Charu Suri, Raul Huaman, The Bob Page Jazz Trio, The Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea, he is the co-owner of Allemande Ensembles, LLC, and is the Director of Jazz Ensembles at Collegium Musicum.
Justin believes strongly in contributing artistically to his own community, and co-created the summer concert series Bach on Hilltop Park with the help of Collegium Musicum in Bordentown, NJ.
